The Fredericton–Oromocto corridor has experienced nearly 80% of the province's more than 80 reported thefts this year. This increase is part of a nationwide trend, with copper thefts climbing by 23% year-over-year. Since 2022, Bell has documented over 2,270 copper theft cases, which constitute 88% of all physical security incidents affecting its network.
