Emerita Resources Advances Drilling Campaign at El Cura Deposit, Uncovering Promising Mineralization
Emerita Resources Corp. is making significant strides in its ongoing drilling campaign at the El Cura deposit, a critical component of its wholly owned Iberian Belt West project. This project includes three Volcanogenic Massive Sulfide (VMS) deposits: La Romanera, El Cura, and La Infanta. Recent drilling results showcase a remarkable 80% rate of mineralization across the drill holes, indicating a rich geological potential. The deeper drill holes, specifically EC051, EC053, and EC056, reveal substantial copper-gold mineralization at depths of 383 meters, 363 meters, and 366 meters, respectively, setting a strong foundation for the future of the El Cura resource.
Despite some challenges, particularly with drill hole EC052, which encountered a fault zone leading to poor core recovery, the overall drilling program remains robust. The team is focused on expanding the El Cura resource by targeting deeper mineralized areas and following the interpreted extension of the deposit to the west. To support this ambitious effort, Emerita employs three drill rigs, with a fourth drill rig being repurposed for exploration near the La Infanta deposit. This additional rig will facilitate condemnation drilling in strategic locations that could serve as potential infrastructure sites for the project.
The technical process employed by Emerita Resources enhances the effectiveness of their drilling program. Utilizing HQ-sized cores, the team transports samples 15 kilometers to their coreshack for thorough analysis. Here, cores undergo a rigorous process of photographing, geotechnical logging, and geological, mineralogical, and structural logging. This systematic approach allows the team to pinpoint mineralized zones more accurately, reinforcing the resource potential of the El Cura deposit and demonstrating Emerita's commitment to advancing its exploration initiatives efficiently.
In addition to the drilling activities, Emerita Resources is strategically considering the infrastructure needs of the Iberian Belt West project. The condemnation drilling near La Infanta is crucial as it assesses potential sites for future project developments. By identifying suitable areas for infrastructure, the company positions itself to streamline operations and optimize resource extraction in the long term.
Emerita Resources continues to showcase its dedication to effective exploration and development within the mining sector. With promising drilling results at the El Cura deposit and a clear strategy for future infrastructure, the company is poised for significant advancements in copper and gold resource development in the Iberian region.
