FMC's Innovative Fungicide Gains Approval in Ukraine: A Game Changer for Crop Management

FMC Corporation, a leader in agricultural sciences, successfully obtains regulatory approval for its Tremisia® fungicide in Ukraine, introducing its advanced fluindapyr technology to the EMEA region for the first time. This significant development allows Ukrainian farmers to utilize Tremisia® across more than 10 million hectares of farmland dedicated to oilseed rape, sunflower, and wheat—crops that are vital to Ukraine’s position as a major global exporter. The approval not only signifies a critical step for FMC in expanding its product offerings but also enhances the agricultural capabilities of farmers in a region challenged by persistent crop diseases.

Tremisia® combines FMC’s proprietary fluindapyr molecule with flutriafol to provide a dual mode of action against prevalent diseases like Alternaria and Sclerotinia in sunflowers, and Septoria and rust in wheat. This innovative fungicide is expected to play a crucial role in improving disease management options for Ukrainian farmers, who have been struggling to maintain productivity in their intensive agricultural systems. Nataliia Savchenko, FMC Ukraine’s country leader, emphasizes that the introduction of this high-performance tool will integrate smoothly into existing disease management programs, thereby giving growers the flexibility to adopt a top-tier solution that fits their specific needs.

The approval of Tremisia® in Ukraine follows FMC’s successful launches of fluindapyr-based products in various countries, including Argentina, Brazil, and the United States. The company has also received conditional approvals for this technology in the Philippines, with plans for further expansion into markets such as Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Honduras, and India. FMC’s commitment to advancing agricultural practices through innovative and sustainable solutions positions it as a key player in helping farmers meet the growing demands of food production while also prioritizing environmental protection.

In addition to the approval of Tremisia®, FMC Corporation remains focused on enhancing its global footprint by continuously developing and introducing cutting-edge products tailored to the needs of local farmers. This strategy not only supports agricultural productivity but also contributes to food security in regions heavily reliant on crop exports. As FMC expands its portfolio, it aims to empower growers around the world with effective tools to tackle agricultural challenges head-on.
