IAMGOLD Achieves Key Milestone at Cote Gold Mine
IAMGOLD Corporation announces a significant operational achievement at its Cote Gold Mine, where the processing plant has successfully reached its nameplate capacity of 36,000 tons per day (tpd) for an impressive thirty consecutive days as of June 21, 2025. This achievement is particularly noteworthy as it comes just 15 months following the mine’s initial gold production, which commenced on March 31, 2024. Renaud Adams, President and CEO of IAMGOLD, commends the dedication of the Cote Gold teams, emphasizing that this milestone is a testament to their hard work and commitment to operational excellence.
The Cote Gold Mine's processing plant has shown remarkable performance, reaching 90% of its nameplate capacity in March and 96% in April. This consistent output not only validates IAMGOLD's production forecasts of between 360,000 to 400,000 ounces of gold on a 100% basis but also sets a strong foundation for potential cost reductions as operations advance through the year. The company’s strategic focus on optimizing production efficiency is reflected in its plans to install a second cone crusher, a move designed to enhance plant availability and maintenance cycles. This upgrade is expected to further increase throughput, underscoring IAMGOLD's commitment to maximizing operational performance and production output.
IAMGOLD operates several mines across North America and West Africa, with the Cote Gold Mine being developed in partnership with Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. The company’s strong operational performance aligns with its broader commitment to high standards in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices, as well as robust exploration initiatives in promising mining districts. With a workforce of approximately 3,700 employees, IAMGOLD is poised for sustainable growth and long-term success within the competitive gold mining industry.
In addition to this operational milestone, IAMGOLD remains focused on its exploration projects, which are situated in key mining districts. The company aims to leverage its operational efficiencies and production capabilities to reinforce its position in the market. The positive results at Cote Gold not only enhance IAMGOLD's production profile but also reflect its broader strategy of responsible mining and commitment to community engagement. With these advancements, IAMGOLD is well-positioned to navigate the evolving landscape of the gold sector while prioritizing sustainability and innovation.
