Enhancing Innovation in Food Processing: SPX FLOW's Strategic Collaboration in Dubai

SPX FLOW is significantly advancing its operational capabilities in the Middle East through a strategic partnership with SIG. This collaboration focuses on upgrading the APV processing equipment at the SIG Test Filling Center, located within the SIG Customer Experience Hub in Dubai. The enhanced facility is poised to enable advanced trials, specifically tailored to meet the evolving demands of the regional food and beverage industry. A key aspect of this upgrade is the introduction of a fermentation line designed for viscous products, which includes a 1,000-liter tank and an efficient APV plate heat exchanger cooler aimed at high-quality yogurt production from both dairy and plant-based materials.

The existing infrastructure at the SIG Test Filling Center boasts a FlexMix Instant vacuum mixer and a multi-UHT pilot system capable of processing up to 1,000 liters of product per hour. The recent expansion adds a two-line clean-in-place (CIP) station to enhance sanitary testing procedures. These advancements come in response to growing overseas customer demand, as highlighted by Thomas Leroy, the Global Head of Innovation Centers at SPX FLOW. With several successful trials already underway, the enhanced capabilities of the facility are expected to provide manufacturers with vital processing data that closely mirrors full-scale factory conditions, thereby streamlining the product development process.

Christian Derusco, the Head of Technical Service & Innovation for IMEA at SIG, emphasizes that this collaboration will not only improve efficiency but also position the SIG Test Filling Center as a vital hub for innovation in the region. It serves as a platform for SPX FLOW and SIG customers to engage in end-to-end product development across various categories, particularly in aseptic fermented and fresh dairy markets. This initiative represents a significant step forward in meeting the local industry's specific needs and facilitating rapid innovation in food processing technologies.

In addition to its advancements in food technology, SIG SAUER has recently honored Medal of Honor Recipient Captain Larry L. Taylor with a tribute display at the SIG SAUER Experience Center Museum in Newington, New Hampshire. This display, inaugurated on July 11, 2025, recognizes Captain Taylor's extraordinary bravery during the Vietnam War, where he earned numerous accolades, including the Silver Star and ultimately the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions in a daring rescue mission.

As SPX FLOW enhances its testing capabilities in Dubai, the company positions itself as a leader in the food processing sector, responding to regional demands while fostering innovation in product development.
