Air Canada Expands International Network with Direct Flights to Naples
Air Canada marks a significant milestone in its international service by launching its inaugural non-stop flights from Montréal to Naples, Italy, on May 17, 2025. This new route enhances the airline's offerings, becoming its fourth direct connection to Italy, alongside existing services to Rome, Milan, and Venice. The addition of this route not only broadens Air Canada's flight network but also aims to strengthen the cultural and economic ties between Canada and Italy. According to Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Air Canada, the airline is dedicated to facilitating travel for those looking to explore Italy’s renowned destinations, including the scenic Amalfi Coast and historic sites like Pompeii.
The new flights are scheduled to operate on Air Canada's Boeing 787 Dreamliner, a modern aircraft celebrated for its comfort and efficiency. The flight itinerary includes departures from Montréal at 19:35 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with arrivals in Naples the following morning at 09:40. Return flights are conveniently scheduled from Naples at 11:35 on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Air Canada offers three distinct classes of service—Economy, Premium Economy, and Air Canada Signature Class—allowing travelers to select their preferred level of comfort and amenities. Signature Class passengers benefit from lie-flat seating, premium dining options, and additional services that cater to those seeking a more luxurious travel experience.
The introduction of this route is not just about connecting two cities; it is also poised to boost tourism and foster deeper relationships between Canada and Italy. Elissa Golberg, the Canadian Ambassador to Italy, and Alessandro Cattaneo, the Italian Ambassador to Canada, both recognize the flight's potential to enhance travel and tourism, particularly with Naples set to host the America's Cup in 2027. This event is expected to attract significant international attention, further solidifying the importance of Air Canada's new service in facilitating travel between the two nations.
In addition to expanding its flight offerings, Air Canada emphasizes the need for travelers to be aware of and meet all government entry requirements, including valid travel documents and health certifications. This focus on compliance aims to ensure a smooth journey for passengers. As Canada’s largest airline and a founding member of the Star Alliance, Air Canada remains committed to providing extensive travel options while also pledging to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, reflecting its dedication to sustainable aviation.
