Taiwan's Circular Economy Roundtable Sets the Stage for Global Collaboration
The upcoming Asia-Pacific Circular Economy Roundtable & Hotspot 2025 (APCER & Hotspot 2025) in Taipei, scheduled from October 20-23, 2025, marks a significant milestone as it is the first time this event is held in the Asia-Pacific region. Co-hosted by Taiwan's Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture, and the Circular Taiwan Network, the roundtable emphasizes "Leading Circular Collaboration" and is part of the global initiative, "Circular Collaboration for Climate Crisis (CC4CC)." This event aims to foster collaboration among various stakeholders in the circular economy, showcasing Taiwan's innovations and initiatives in sustainable practices.
On October 21, attendees will engage in six industry-themed site visits that highlight Taiwan's achievements in circular economy initiatives across sectors such as agriculture, textiles, high-tech, architecture, plastics, and community-driven business models. Notable sites include the Asia Plant Organic Farm and TSMC's Taichung Zero-Waste Manufacturing Center. These visits are designed to provide practical insights into how circular economy principles can be integrated into business strategies, demonstrating the tangible benefits of sustainable practices for both the environment and the economy.
The discussions during the event will also cover Taiwan’s draft Circular Economy Roadmap and address global challenges such as the Global Plastics Treaty. A Business Matchmaking Session aims to connect Taiwanese companies with potential partners from the Asia-Pacific region, enhancing collaborative efforts for sustainable development. The final day will feature sessions focused on enablers of the circular economy, including policy frameworks and financial mechanisms that can support innovation and sustainable growth. This roundtable positions Taiwan as a pivotal player in the global circular economy landscape, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in combating climate change.
In a related development, Rehrig Pacific Company has announced a strategic partnership with AutoStore, becoming the latter's designated bin manufacturing partner in the U.S. This collaboration aims to meet the growing demand for high-performance bins in the warehouse automation sector, aligning with the increasing integration of robotic systems in logistics.
Additionally, ETS Performance, a youth sports training company, is expanding its facilities across the U.S. to empower young athletes. This expansion reflects a commitment to community engagement while promoting leadership and service among youth, a mission highlighted by the establishment of a facility in memory of Tate Meere, a victim of the Oxford High School shooting.
