Jacobs Solutions Enhances Airport Operations with Key Project Management Role at Denver International Airport
Jacobs Solutions has secured a pivotal role in the ongoing expansion of Denver International Airport (DEN) by providing program management support for the Consolidated Rent-A-Car Facility (ConRAC) and the Common Transportation System (CTS). This initiative is part of DEN's ambitious capital improvement program aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, safety, and the overall passenger experience. With DEN projected to accommodate over 120 million travelers by 2045, Jacobs’ involvement is crucial in addressing the growing demands of one of the fastest-growing airports globally.
The ConRAC and CTS project aims to streamline rental car operations and improve accessibility between the rental car facility and airport terminals. By consolidating rental car services, Jacobs anticipates a decrease in traffic congestion and a reduced reliance on shuttle services. Jacobs’ Vice President, Steve Pelham, highlights that this consolidation will free up curb space, facilitating the redevelopment of surface lots to accommodate future needs. This strategic approach not only enhances passenger convenience but also optimizes airport operations, positioning DEN to better meet increasing passenger volumes.
Jacobs, with its extensive global program management experience, plans to integrate electric vehicle infrastructure, innovative traffic design, and customer interface technologies into the project. This expertise aligns with Jacobs' commitment to minimizing environmental impacts while enhancing the airport’s capacity. Jacobs Executive Vice President, Eva Wood, reinforces the significance of DEN as an economic driver for Colorado and emphasizes Jacobs' long-standing partnership with the airport, which dates back to 1992. Over these years, Jacobs has successfully completed more than 60 critical projects, including the Great Hall Improvement Program and Concourse Expansion Program, further establishing the company as a leader in developing smart transportation infrastructure.
In addition to its role at DEN, Jacobs Solutions is recognized as a key player in the transportation sector. Ranked No. 2 by Engineering News-Record, Jacobs specializes in innovative transportation infrastructure projects at major airports, including Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International and O'Hare International. This ongoing dedication to enhancing transportation systems positions Jacobs as a vital contributor to solving the world's transportation challenges.
Furthermore, Jacobs' commitment to innovation extends beyond infrastructure to include a focus on sustainable practices and customer-centric designs. As the company embraces emerging technologies, its holistic approach supports not only the current demands of transportation but also future sustainability goals, ensuring that Jacobs remains at the forefront of the industry.
