Outcrop Silver & Gold Corp. Expands Silver Discovery at Santa Ana Project
Outcrop Silver & Gold Corporation (TSXV: OCG) continues to bolster its standing in the mining sector with promising results from the Los Mangos vein at the Santa Ana high-grade silver project in Colombia. The latest drilling results reveal significant intercepts, including 3.86 meters at 621 grams per tonne (g/t) silver equivalent (AgEq) from drill hole DH464. This discovery builds on previous findings, notably an impressive 18.30 meters at 992 g/t AgEq from hole DH459. Such results not only affirm the continuity of mineralization within the vein system but also highlight the potential for extensive high-grade zones, marking Los Mangos as a pivotal discovery within the broader Santa Ana project.
The Los Mangos vein, situated over eight kilometers south of the existing resource area, demonstrates a confirmed strike length exceeding 350 meters and vertical continuity of more than 250 meters. The mineralization observed is predominantly present in quartz-sulfide breccias and altered green schists, which are indicative of the geological diversity in the region. The ongoing success of the drilling campaign underscores the strategic importance of the Santa Ana project, which spans an impressive 27,000 hectares. As one of the largest and highest-grade primary silver districts in Colombia, Santa Ana has a storied mining history, with records dating back to 1585.
Outcrop Silver & Gold is currently executing a fully funded 24,000-meter drilling program aimed at extending known mineralization and identifying new high-potential areas along a 30-kilometer mineralized trend. This ambitious initiative is poised to significantly enhance resource estimates and further define the potential of the Santa Ana project. Ian Harris, President and CEO, emphasizes the project’s capacity for substantial resource growth, reinforcing Outcrop Silver's commitment to exploring one of Colombia's most promising silver districts.
In addition to the encouraging drill results, the maiden resource estimate for the Santa Ana project suggests an estimated 24.2 million ounces of silver equivalent at a grade of 614 g/t. This figure not only illustrates the project's potential but also positions Outcrop Silver as a key player in the silver mining industry. As the company continues to advance its drilling efforts, it stands on the brink of transformative growth, with the possibility of discovering further high-grade silver deposits.
