T. Rowe Price Expands Active ETF Portfolio with New Offerings
T. Rowe Price recently enhances its active exchange-traded fund (ETF) portfolio by launching two innovative products: the T. Rowe Price Global Equity ETF (Ticker: TGLB) and the T. Rowe Price International Equity Research ETF (Ticker: TIER). These new ETFs, which began trading on NYSE Arca on June 26, 2025, are a significant step in the company's ongoing effort to diversify and expand its investment offerings. With the introduction of TGLB and TIER, T. Rowe Price adds to its existing lineup of 24 active ETFs, which includes three sector-focused funds launched earlier in June.
The TGLB ETF is designed for long-term capital appreciation, focusing on 45 to 60 high-conviction companies within global developed markets. Its geographic exposure is aligned with the MSCI World Index, allowing investors to tap into established markets while benefiting from the active management style that T. Rowe Price is known for. This fund is managed by Peter Bates, CFA®, who brings over two decades of experience at T. Rowe Price. In contrast, the TIER ETF takes a broader approach by employing fundamental research to create a diversified portfolio of 300 to 500 securities. This fund aligns closely with the MSCI All Country World ex USA Index, covering both developed and emerging markets outside the U.S. The management of TIER is a collaborative effort involving a team of six investment professionals, each specializing in various regions, thus leveraging their collective expertise.
With the launch of these ETFs, T. Rowe Price reinforces its commitment to the active ETF market, which it entered in 2020. The firm now features a total of 24 active ETFs, comprising 18 equity and six fixed-income options. These funds are designed to provide typical ETF advantages, such as tax efficiency and competitive expense ratios, while aiming to outperform passive indexes through diligent global research. Tim Coyne, Global Head of Exchange-Traded Funds at T. Rowe Price, highlights the strategic importance of these new products in boosting the firm's ETF offerings and meeting the evolving demands of investors seeking active management solutions.
In addition to the recent launches, T. Rowe Price has already established a strong footprint in the international ETF space, following the debut of the T. Rowe Price International Equity ETF (TOUS) in 2023. This continued expansion highlights the company's dedication to providing investors with a diverse range of active investment strategies that respond to dynamic market conditions.
The introduction of TGLB and TIER marks a pivotal moment for T. Rowe Price, showcasing its commitment to innovation in the ETF market and reinforcing its position as a leader in active management. As the firm continues to evolve its product offerings, it remains focused on delivering superior investment outcomes for its clients.
