Adience review elevates AudioEye's automated accessibility claims
TUCSON, Ariz., Feb. 12 (Reuters) — An independent B2B market research firm finds AudioEye’s automated accessibility technology identifies substantially more Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) issues than competing products, a development the company says could reshape how organizations approach digital compliance.
AudioEye detects substantially more WCAG issues than peers
Adience evaluates five leading automated accessibility tools by scanning, measuring and validating issues mapped to WCAG Levels A, AA and AAA, and reports that AudioEye’s automated detection finds between 89% and 253% more WCAG issues than competing products. At the commonly referenced regulatory Level AA, several tools return no findings on multiple sites while AudioEye consistently identifies issues at all three WCAG levels across every tested website. Adience’s analysis shows AudioEye finds 509% more valid issues at Level A than the lowest-performing tool and 68% more than the next closest, and 380% more valid issues at Level AA than the lowest-performing tool that returned any results and 41% more than the next-closest tool.
Company and analyst comments underline industry implications
AudioEye Chief Executive David Moradi says the pace of web and app creation is accelerating — driven by new coding tools — and that the number of sites and apps increases 40–60% year over year. He warns some large language models and automated systems rely on detection methods with substantially lower detection rates, contributing to a record number of digital accessibility lawsuits. Moradi adds AudioEye leverages years of data across hundreds of thousands of sites and billions of unique visits to scale detection and combines agentic tooling with human testing, custom fixes and continuous monitoring to improve coverage and visibility into compliance gaps.
Study methodology and industry takeaway
Adience Managing Director Chris Wells emphasizes each tool is tested under identical conditions and that the results demonstrate wide variation in what automated accessibility tools detect even when analyzing the same pages. The firm concludes automation is the foundation for protection but that human evaluation remains essential to resolve complex, contextual barriers.
Potential action for customers
The study reinforces a broader industry move toward blended services — using automated scanning for scale and human expertise for nuanced remediation — as organizations face growing regulatory and litigation pressure around digital accessibility.
