  • Aon names Joe Peiser CEO of Risk Capital to integrate capabilities across Commercial Risk and Reinsurance Solutions. • He will scale integrated offerings, using analytics and Aon technology to lower clients' total cost of risk. • Aon positions Risk Capital as a hub routing capital across insurance, reinsurance, captives, ILS and alternative markets.

Aon elevates Joe Peiser to lead Risk Capital integration

Aon appoints Joe Peiser as CEO of Risk Capital, charging him with unifying the firm’s Risk Capital capabilities across Commercial Risk and Reinsurance Solutions. The move reinforces Aon’s strategy to help clients navigate rising volatility by connecting risk with efficient forms of capital and accelerating solutions that combine market access, analytics and advisory services. Peiser will lead efforts to scale integrated offerings and continues to report to Andy Marcell, CEO of Global Solutions for Aon.

In his new role, Peiser focuses on driving end-to-end solutions that favor a more connected, analytics-enabled capital ecosystem. He is tasked with prioritizing client resilience, expanding product distribution and deepening partnerships with capital providers while leveraging Aon’s technology investments to lower clients’ total cost of risk. Peiser works closely with solution-line and regional leaders and with Aon Business Services to speed delivery of unified risk-transfer and capital-management services across geographies.

The appointment comes as Aon seeks stronger coordination between broking, reinsurance and alternative capital channels. Aon positions Risk Capital as a hub for routing capital across insurance, reinsurance, captives, parametric structures, insurance-linked securities (ILS) and other alternative markets. The firm signals a push to use advanced analytics and modelling to quantify trade-offs, expand advisory capabilities around capital structuring and emerging risks, and innovate new instruments and digital market-making tools.

Risk Capital strategy details and ambitions

Aon highlights four core elements in the Risk Capital strategy: broad capital distribution across traditional and alternative markets; advanced analytics to optimise total cost of risk; advisory expansion for structuring and capital management; and innovation in digital trading, parametric solutions and new risk-transfer instruments. The company frames these as central to helping clients allocate capital more efficiently amid greater frequency and severity of losses.

Management context and leadership credentials

Andy Marcell underscores Peiser’s deep industry experience and client relationships as reasons for the elevation. Peiser has more than 30 years of industry experience and has been with Aon since 2021, serving in Commercial Risk leadership roles and as Global CEO of Commercial Risk since 2023. Aon is conducting a search for a new CEO of Commercial Risk as Peiser assumes his expanded responsibilities.
