Microsoft Places brings workplace maps and bookings to kiosks
Appspace expands Microsoft Places integration to put interactive maps, reservations and visitor workflows directly onto kiosks and digital signage, bringing real‑time floor plans and location data into physical touchpoints across offices and campuses. The move surfaces Microsoft Places information inside Appspace screens so employees and visitors can find and reserve desks, rooms and shared resources, navigate with wayfinding maps, and manage visits from invitation through check‑in and check‑out. Appspace says the integration turns passive displays into actionable workplace tools that reduce friction for people moving through multi‑site environments.
Appspace positions the combined solution as an extension of Microsoft Places rather than a simple display feed, adding advanced space reservation, visitor management and consolidated workplace insights. The platform aggregates real‑time booking and occupancy analytics so organisations can coordinate resources, improve utilisation and base hybrid work policies on measured behaviour. Paul Alley, Appspace’s vice president of global partnerships, says making workplace data easy to access leads to better space use, and Brennan McReynolds of Microsoft Places frames the partner network as a way to push centre‑of‑truth workplace details into the physical environments where people actually work.
The companies demonstrate the integration at ISE 2026 in Barcelona and signal further enhancements to deepen connections between digital tools and physical infrastructure. Appspace plans to expand functionality and analytics to help customers use integrated data for capacity planning, cost control and compliance reporting, and to build tailored experiences for employees and external guests. The emphasis is on turning Microsoft Places’ cloud‑based location and plan data into measurable operational improvements across kiosks, signage and workplace services.
Autopilot and MDM checks gain prominence for device lifecycle
BitRaser introduces detection for Microsoft Autopilot within its data erasure toolset to flag Windows devices still registered in Autopilot before decommissioning, addressing tenant lock and re‑enrolment risks that complicate refresh and resale workflows. The capability joins Apple MDM detection and pre‑erasure readiness checks to reduce compliance risk and downstream rework for organisations managing large endpoint fleets.
Channel and services partners deepen Microsoft expertise for customers
Helient Technologies ties up with AVANT Communications to deliver Microsoft Solutions Partner services through AVANT’s Technology Services Distributor network, combining Helient’s licensing, Azure, FinOps and Modern Desktop know‑how with AVANT’s advisory reach to speed cloud adoption, governance and cost optimisation in security‑sensitive sectors.
