Aurion Resources Expands Gold Mineralization at Kaaresselka in Finland
Aurion Resources Ltd. has unveiled promising results from its latest drilling campaign at the Kaaresselka area of the Risti property in northern Finland, further delineating the gold mineralization at the Vanha prospect. The company completes a total of seven drill holes, with a cumulative depth of 1,243 meters. Remarkably, all six holes drilled at the Vanha site intersected gold mineralization, underscoring the area's potential. Among these, drill hole KS25099 stands out, revealing a substantial 1.71 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold over 22.00 meters. This significant intersection extends the known mineralized system approximately 100 meters, bringing the total strike length to an impressive 950 meters.
The exploration results not only confirm the continuity of the mineralization at Vanha but also highlight the discovery of a new mineralized zone located 800 meters to the west-southwest. Drill hole KS25101 recorded 1.06 g/t Au over 15.35 meters, indicating the possibility of a broader and more complex gold system. With the mineralized system interpreted to extend 950 meters along strike and to a depth of at least 200 meters, the potential for further discoveries remains high, given that the system is open in multiple directions. This ongoing exploration strengthens Aurion’s position in a region that has demonstrated significant geological promise.
The Kaaresselka area’s geological characteristics resemble other notable gold discoveries, suggesting that it may be part of a larger, extensive mineralized system. Initial mineralogical tests show high gold recoveries exceeding 93.6% from standard bottle roll leaching methods, confirming the gold's amenability to conventional processing techniques. Coupled with its strategic proximity—just 15 kilometers east of Aurion-B2Gold's recent Vuoma discovery, which yielded 28.64 g/t Au over 4.90 meters—the Kaaresselka area positions Aurion Resources favorably within a potentially lucrative structural corridor.
In addition to the encouraging drilling results, Aurion Resources is committed to continuing its exploration activities in the Kaaresselka area, with further assay results expected soon. The company’s diligent approach and the positive outcomes from its drilling program reinforce its strategic focus on tapping into Finland’s rich mineral resources. As the exploration progresses, Aurion is poised to enhance its understanding of the mineral potential in the region and to uncover additional opportunities for growth.
