Atlanta Growth Push: CGI is acquiring Stratfield to deepen Atlanta digital engineering capabilities
CGI is acquiring Atlanta-based Stratfield Consulting, a management and technology consulting firm that specializes in digital engineering, product development and technology strategy, in a deal announced on Feb. 4, 2026. The transaction brings nearly 200 Stratfield consultants into CGI and increases CGI’s Atlanta headcount to almost 600 professionals who live and work in the metro market. The combination is expected to close in February 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
The deal strengthens CGI’s presence in Atlanta, which the company describes as a key U.S. growth market, by adding local teams experienced in retail and financial services engagements. CGI says the acquisition enables it to combine Stratfield’s regional client relationships and delivery expertise with CGI’s end‑to‑end capabilities, scale and delivery models to accelerate client digital transformation initiatives and shorten time‑to‑value. Vijay Srinivasan, president of U.S. commercial and state government operations at CGI, frames the move as extending the firm’s ability to offer integrated technology and consulting services from local offices backed by global resources.
Stratfield’s leadership emphasizes continuity for customers and staff. CEO Butch Benford says the transaction preserves relationship‑driven local teams while creating broader delivery options and career paths within CGI’s global network. CGI plans to maintain Stratfield’s client relationships and local presence while providing access to its intellectual property and managed‑services capabilities to expand offerings across retail and financial services.
Local Teams, Global Delivery
CGI frames the acquisition as advancing a local‑relationship model supported by a global delivery network: Stratfield’s specialists are expected to augment industry domain knowledge and product engineering skills, enabling packaged and custom solutions that leverage CGI’s systems integration, managed IT and business process services. The firm highlights opportunities for nearly 200 incoming consultants to work on larger engagements and cross‑border projects.
Deal Mechanics and Company Snapshot
The transaction is slated to close in February 2026, subject to customary conditions. CGI, founded in 1976, is one of the largest independent technology and professional services firms, with about 94,000 consultants and professionals globally and reported fiscal 2025 revenue of CA$15.91 billion.
