Costco expands Chickapea presence in Los Angeles and Hawaii
Costco Wholesale is taking on-trend protein-forward pantry items into its warehouses with a limited-time exclusive from Chickapea, the certified B Corporation. The company is placing a family-size One Pot Meals 3‑pack of its Creamy Garlic mac-and-cheese–style boxed meals in 46 Costco warehouses across the Los Angeles region and four locations in Hawaii beginning Feb. 2, 2026. The move marks Chickapea’s first One Pot Meals rotation in the Los Angeles Costco region and represents a targeted retail test of member demand.
The 3‑pack bundles three ready-in-under-12-minute boxed meals that use Chickapea’s pasta made from chickpeas and yellow peas. Each serving delivers about 15 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber, is certified gluten-free and kosher, and ships with pasta and seasoning so shoppers only add milk and optional butter. Costco’s large-format model and emphasis on value and family-sized packaging align with Chickapea’s positioning as a convenient, higher-protein alternative to traditional boxed macaroni and cheese.
Chickapea and Costco are using the limited run to collect member feedback and measure broader demand after a Los Angeles roadshow last year generated strong interest among families, busy professionals and health-conscious shoppers. The rotation gives the brand a chance to scale distribution on a regional basis and to assess whether the product can move into additional Costco regions or become a recurring SKU.
