Emerald Ecovations unveils a tree-free consumer packaged goods (CPG) board engineered for cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food packaging and other consumer goods, the Huntington, New York company says. The board is built from a proprietary blend of bagasse — the fibrous residue from sugarcane — and FSC‑certified fibers, contains no PFAS, and is designed for compostability and circular end‑of‑life pathways. The firm positions the product as a lower‑footprint alternative intended to meet tightening regulations and rising consumer demand for sustainable packaging.

The product is engineered for premium CPG and personal care applications and is expected to qualify for Emerald Ecovations’ existing sustainability certifications once final testing is complete, the company says. Emerald frames the launch as removing a barrier that has limited brand access to credible, high‑quality sustainable packaging. “We are enabling brands to make packaging a visible statement of responsibility,” Chief Executive Ralph Bianculli says, as the company aims to give marketers a verifiable option that avoids both tree harvesting and plastic content.

Commercial rollout begins in late first quarter 2026, and Emerald invites brands seeking early access to contact the company at [email protected]. The company highlights industry data that more than 70% of consumers prefer products with compostable or sustainably sourced packaging and nearly 80% say they are more loyal to brands that reduce plastic use and deforestation, data Emerald cites to explain market pull. Emerald also stresses that the new board is designed to fit into cradle‑to‑cradle systems and circular end‑of‑life infrastructure, addressing growing regulatory demands for transparency and measurable environmental performance.
