FPX Nickel Corp. Expands Exploration at Klow Property with JOGMEC Support

FPX Nickel Corp. embarks on an ambitious exploration initiative at its recently expanded Klow property, which sits just 45 kilometers north of the Baptiste Nickel Project in British Columbia. This strategic move marks a significant step for FPX as exploration activities commence, fully funded by the Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC). Through an earn-in agreement established earlier this year, JOGMEC has the opportunity to acquire a 60% interest in the Klow property, enhancing collaborative efforts in identifying valuable nickel resources. The Klow property has expanded dramatically, now covering 164 square kilometers, reflecting the company's commitment to tapping into the region's mineral potential.

The forthcoming exploration program at Klow is set to launch with a comprehensive surface rock sampling initiative, planned for July 2025 and backed by a budget of $325,000 approved by JOGMEC. Previous geological assessments have underscored the property’s mineralization potential, with surface samples revealing grades of up to 0.13% nickel-in-alloy, alongside historic drill results that report a significant intercept of 316 meters at 0.097% nickel-in-alloy. Keith Patterson, FPX’s Vice President of Exploration, emphasizes the promising geological features of Klow, highlighting that the area is underlain by the same Trembleur ultramafic rocks that contribute to the nearby Baptiste project’s success. This geological similarity points to Klow's potential for substantial nickel deposits, positioning it as an exciting prospect in the region's mining landscape.

The exploration strategy at Klow involves a detailed sampling approach, targeting known areas with a grid of 100 x 200 meters in mineralized zones, while also exploring less developed regions with a wider 200 x 1,000 meter spacing. This systematic methodology aims to maximize the understanding of the property’s geological framework and mineralization trends. FPX Nickel Corp. remains committed to responsible exploration, taking into account the traditional territories of multiple First Nations in the region, who are also involved in the adjacent Baptiste project. The collaborative approach marks a step forward in fostering meaningful partnerships within the local communities while advancing the company’s exploration goals.

In addition to the exploration activities, FPX Nickel Corp. maintains a focus on enhancing stakeholder engagement and fostering relationships with Indigenous communities. The company’s commitment to responsible resource development is reflected in its collaborative efforts, ensuring that the interests of local populations are respected and integrated into project planning. As exploration at Klow progresses, FPX Nickel Corp. looks to solidify its position within the nickel mining industry while contributing to the sustainable development of British Columbia’s mineral resources.
