Humana adds Zynex electrotherapy to in‑network durable medical equipment
ENGLEWOOD, Colorado — Humana is expanding in‑network access to non‑invasive electrotherapy devices through a new provider agreement with Zynex Inc., effective Feb. 1, 2026, the companies say. The deal enables Humana members to obtain Zynex’s NexWave and other electrotherapy products under a broad set of Humana plans, positioning the devices as an alternative pain‑management option within the insurer’s network of covered durable medical equipment.
Humana’s move reflects an insurer interest in non‑pharmacologic pain therapies that can reduce reliance on opioids and other interventions, industry observers say. Under the agreement Zynex is participating in Medicare‑PPO, POS, Network PFFS and HMO plans as well as multiple state Medicaid programs and integrated dual‑eligible special needs plans, expanding potential patient access across commercial, Medicare and Medicaid lines. Zynex highlights the safety and efficacy profile of its electrotherapy technology and says the partnership supports quality‑of‑life improvements for members.
Integration efforts are already under way, with Zynex indicating it will work with Humana systems to expedite member access to electrotherapy as durable medical equipment and to monitor utilization and clinical outcomes. Both companies underscore compliance and clinical oversight as priorities; Zynex’s leadership frames the relationship as a test of the company’s ability to deliver measurable clinical results and maintain standards of transparency and integrity.
Coverage scope touches Medicare Advantage and state Medicaid programs
The provider agreement covers a wide range of Humana benefit products, including Medicare‑PPO Plans, HMO Plans, several state Medicaid programs (Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Virginia and Michigan) and Humana’s Integrated DSNP Plans. Financial terms are not disclosed, and the arrangement extends to employer and individual product channels where Humana operates.
Zynex background and implementation notes
Zynex, founded in 1996, manufactures and distributes electrotherapy and pain‑management devices and says it will monitor utilization and outcomes across participating plans. Company executives — including EVP Kurt Hudson and CEO Steven Dyson — thank Humana for expanding patient access and signal ongoing efforts to integrate systems and support clinical monitoring as the program rolls out.
