Benton Harbor briefing: KitchenAid stages biggest relaunch in a decade
Smart home trio targets everyday cooking
KitchenAid, the appliance brand of Whirlpool Corporation, is unveiling a major product relaunch at the 2026 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Orlando that focuses on smarter, professional‑grade kitchen tools. The centerpiece is a Smart Double Wall Oven with an Intelligent Cooking Camera that recognizes supported foods such as whole chicken, cookies, bread, bacon and pizza and can start cooking without preheating. The oven uses Doneness Detection to monitor progress and auto‑adjust cook time, offers Live Look‑In via the oven display or a phone, and creates shareable time‑lapse videos of the cooking process.
The relaunch also debuts a counter‑depth French door refrigerator with a reengineered exterior water dispenser and AI‑enabled Intelligent Auto Fill, which hands‑free fills containers from 8‑ounce coffee cups to 40‑ounce bottles as well as pots and vases. The system senses item size, prevents splash and overflow, and detects when a hand pulls away or an item is off‑center to stop filling. KitchenAid further expands capacity with a 7.25 cu. ft. MaxTub dishwasher featuring 360° Max Jets™ and a Third Rack that fits 10 extra items, paired with an Advanced ProDry™ system the company says delivers its driest dry.
Whirlpool frames the introductions as engineering choices intended to simplify routine tasks while preserving the brand’s professional performance. Associate Brand Director Kevin Sulaiman says the products build on KitchenAid’s heritage as the creator of the first stand mixer and early home dishwashers, aiming to "meet expectations and surprise with new capabilities." The company is presenting the new models as part of its largest KitchenAid line refresh in more than ten years, stressing smart‑home integration and hands‑on usability rather than incremental feature tweaks.
Award recognition and show details
The Smart Double Wall Oven is named a 2026 Best of KBIS Award Finalist, and attendees can view the full display inside the Whirlpool Corporation booth (W701) at KBIS, running Feb. 17–19, 2026, in Orlando. Whirlpool issues the announcement from Benton Harbor, Michigan, on Feb. 10, 2026.
Demonstrations and market positioning
Whirlpool invites show attendees to hands‑on demonstrations to experience the camera, AI fill and enhanced drying technologies. The company positions the relaunch as a strategic push to deepen KitchenAid’s presence in premium connected kitchens and to showcase engineering that addresses everyday household workflows.
