Lavras Gold Corp. Reports Positive Drilling Results at Butia Gold Deposit
Lavras Gold Corp. (TSXV: LGC) announces significant advancements in its exploration efforts at the Butia Gold Deposit, a key component of the LDS Project located in southern Brazil. Recent drilling activities reveal gold intersections averaging 1.0 grams per tonne (gt) over an extensive 371 metres from a total of seven new drill holes, which cover a combined length of 1,825 metres. This exploration phase aims to bolster the confidence in the Butia resource by converting Inferred resources into Measured and Indicated categories, which currently comprise an estimated 377,000 ounces of gold in the Measured and Indicated categories, along with an additional 115,000 ounces classified as Inferred.
The drilling program is not only focused on confirming existing resources but also has the potential to expand the gold endowment of the Butia deposit. Lavras Gold is committed to enhancing the economic viability of its projects, particularly at Butia and the nearby Fazenda do Posto gold target. As part of this ongoing exploration initiative, the company has renewed a 25,000-metre drilling contract to ensure continuous drilling activities at the site. The strategic focus on these gold deposits underscores Lavras Gold’s intent to define a robust, economically sustainable gold resource within the expansive 23,000 hectares of the LDS Project.
In conjunction with its drilling efforts, Lavras Gold is progressing with a metallurgical test program at the SGS Laboratory in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. This program involves the analysis of three composite samples, each weighing 150 kilograms, sourced from the Fazenda do Posto gold target. These tests are pivotal for understanding the extraction processes and optimizing the recovery of gold from the ore, further supporting the company's objective of establishing a viable mining operation in the region.
Lavras Gold Corp. continues to solidify its position in the competitive gold exploration sector by advancing its projects strategically and systematically. The positive results from the Butia Gold Deposit not only enhance the company's resource profile but also reinforce its commitment to sustainable exploration and resource development in southern Brazil.
