Lead Real Estate Co. Strengthens Renewable Energy Commitment in Oklahoma

Lead Real Estate Co. (LRE) makes significant strides in renewable energy development with the announcement of over 700-megawatt alternating current (MWac) solar projects in Oklahoma. These initiatives are partially backed by long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with tech giant Google, marking a critical partnership that not only supports Google’s expansive data center operations but also bolsters the reliability of Oklahoma's electric grid. The centerpiece of this development, the 372-MWac Mayes County Solar Portfolio, is strategically positioned just one mile from Google's data center in Pryor, Oklahoma, showcasing LRE's commitment to integrating renewable energy with technological advancement.

The Mayes County Solar Portfolio, acquired from Red River Renewable Energy, LLC, consists of three distinct solar projects: Salt Branch Solar (145 MWac), Huckleberry Solar (125 MWac), and Mayes Solar (102 MWac). In addition, the projects include the Twelvemile Solar Project, which comprises two segments of 152.5 MWac and a third segment of 200 MWac, culminating in a total of 724 MWac of solar energy capacity. This extensive solar initiative is not only poised to provide clean energy but is also anticipated to create over 300 construction jobs and generate an estimated $76 million in tax revenue for the local Mayes County community, underscoring LRE’s role as a catalyst for economic growth in the region.

LRE's commitment extends beyond economic benefits, as the company actively engages in community support. They have contributed over $60,000 to local organizations, including the Red Cross and the Chamber of Commerce, further solidifying their presence in Oklahoma. The PPAs, facilitated through the LEAP™ process—developed in collaboration with Google and LevelTen Energy—align with Google’s ambitious goal of achieving 24/7 carbon-free energy by 2030. Eran Mahrer, Chief Commercial Officer at LRE, expresses pride in this partnership, emphasizing the dual objectives of enhancing grid resilience and fostering national energy independence through local job creation and the use of domestically manufactured materials.

In addition to its economic impact, LRE's renewable energy projects represent a significant step toward sustainable energy solutions in the United States. By collaborating with industry leaders like Google, LRE not only enhances its operational footprint but also contributes to the broader goals of reducing carbon emissions and promoting renewable energy adoption. This initiative reflects a growing trend among companies to prioritize sustainability while ensuring operational reliability and community development.

As the renewable energy landscape continues to evolve, LRE’s projects in Oklahoma exemplify how strategic partnerships and local investments can drive both economic and environmental benefits, paving the way for a greener future.
