Li-FT Power Ltd. Initiates Exploration at Cali Lithium Project
Li-FT Power Ltd. (LIFT.V) embarks on a pivotal phase of exploration at its Cali Lithium Project, set to commence on July 17, 2025. This initiative is strategically poised within the Little Nahanni Spodumene Pegmatite Group in the Northwest Territories, an area characterized by a robust structural corridor that spans over 13 kilometers. The geological features of this region include several spodumene dykes, which are crucial for lithium extraction. The company’s prior prospecting efforts in the summer of 2023 have already unveiled multiple contiguous dyke zones, varying in width from 100 to 300 meters. Notably, some of these dykes contain coarse spodumene crystals, with rock samples returning impressive grades as high as 3.04% Li2O, showcasing the project's significant lithium potential.
The exploration program for 2025 aims to further investigate the mineralization potential of the Little Nahanni structures, particularly as they extend into newly acquired claims. In 2024, Li-FT Power expanded its claims by staking an additional 9,681 hectares after securing an amendment to the Sahtu Land Use Plan, which allows for enhanced exploration and development activities. The upcoming exploration will focus on trenching approximately 1,100 meters in identified high-grade spodumene zones, strategically excavating trenches perpendicular to the dyke corridors. This approach is designed to evaluate both grade and width continuity, laying the groundwork for subsequent drilling activities. The efforts reflect the company's commitment to maximizing its resource potential in an increasingly competitive lithium market.
In addition to trenching, the exploration program will include the collection of bulk metallurgical samples aimed at assessing spodumene recovery through dense media separation (DMS). This technique is crucial for optimizing lithium extraction processes, which remains a significant focus given the growing global demand for lithium in battery production. Furthermore, the exploration will extend to a newly identified area of 1,877 hectares located northeast of the primary dyke structures, further enhancing the scope of the project and its potential for substantial lithium resources.
Li-FT Power's exploration activities at the Cali Lithium Project highlight the company's strategic positioning in the lithium sector, which is witnessing unprecedented growth due to the electrification of transportation and renewable energy technologies. As the company advances its exploration efforts, it aims to solidify its place as a key player in the burgeoning lithium market, leveraging its geological advantages and innovative extraction techniques.
