Valentine’s Play: Logitech G Says Co‑gaming Boosts Relationship Satisfaction
Logitech G, the gaming division of Logitech International S.A., is framing video games as a tool for relationship building after a survey of more than 1,500 Australians aged 18–45 finds couples who play together weekly report markedly higher satisfaction. Conducted with independent firm Antenna Insights, the research shows respondents who game together at least once a week register a net relationship satisfaction score of +47.3, compared with +24.0 for those who rarely or never play together.
The survey also finds regular gaming partners share nearly 17 hours of quality time per week — about 3.8 hours more than couples who play only occasionally — suggesting structured gaming sessions create predictable opportunities for connection. Logitech G highlights that 44% of respondents say they play with a partner occasionally or regularly, while 22% play rarely and 34% never do, and names teamwork and relaxation among the top reasons couples game together.
Daniel Hall, Senior Category Manager at Logitech G ANZ, frames the results as evidence that gaming “isn’t just a solo hobby but a powerful tool for quality time, communication, and teamwork in romantic relationships.” The company is presenting the findings ahead of Valentine’s Day to underscore how cooperative gameplay, shared challenges and low‑cost entertainment options can reduce stress and foster joint problem‑solving in everyday routines.
Product push: Astro A20 X and PLAYSYNC
Logitech G times the research release with the launch of the Astro A20 X Gaming Headset, which the company says is powered by PLAYSYNC technology that lets players switch between consoles with a single button press. The product tie‑in positions hardware that simplifies shared play as complementary to the behavioural trends the survey highlights.
Industry implications: Social gaming as routine
The findings reflect a broader industry shift toward social and lifestyle framing of games and peripherals, where manufacturers promote hardware as enabling shared leisure rather than only competitive play. By linking product launches to seasonal moments such as Valentine’s Day, Logitech G is leveraging research to market gaming as accessible, measurable and practical for strengthening everyday relationships.
