Perma-Pipe International Holdings Welcomes New Board Member Amid Leadership Changes
Perma-Pipe International Holdings, Inc., a leader in pre-insulated piping and leak detection systems, announces pivotal changes to its Board of Directors aimed at refreshing its leadership and enhancing governance. Effective January 6, 2025, Ibrahim Jaham Al Kuwari will join the board as a new director, bringing with him a wealth of experience from the Gulf region. Concurrently, Cynthia Boiter, an independent director, will resign from her position effective May 1, 2025. Jerome Walker, the current Chairman of the Board, has also declared he will not seek re-election during the annual shareholders' meeting in 2025, marking the end of his tenure that began in 2014.
David Mansfield, President and CEO of Perma-Pipe, acknowledges the valuable contributions of both Walker and Boiter, particularly in governance and financial oversight. Walker’s leadership since becoming Chairman in 2022 has been crucial in guiding the company through significant strategic initiatives. As Perma-Pipe continues to evaluate its board composition to ensure a diverse range of skills that align with current market dynamics, the addition of Al Kuwari is considered integral to the company’s growth strategy, especially in tapping into the burgeoning Middle Eastern market.
Al Kuwari’s extensive background includes leadership roles such as CEO of Qatar Solar Technologies and Qatar Fuel, along with experience in project management at Dolphin Energy, Ltd. His appointment is anticipated to bring fresh insights that resonate with the evolving needs of Perma-Pipe’s stakeholders and the broader industry landscape. The company expresses gratitude to the departing board members and looks forward to harnessing Al Kuwari’s expertise to navigate future challenges and opportunities.
In addition to board changes, Perma-Pipe recently confirms the receipt of a formal award letter for a major development project in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, valued at over $43 million. Scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2025, this project will see the company delivering thermal insulation and corrosion protection coatings from its Abu Dhabi facility. This award underscores Perma-Pipe’s successful track record in executing technically demanding projects and strengthens its growing order backlog.
The company operates in fifteen locations across six countries, leveraging its engineering and manufacturing capabilities to provide solutions that ensure the safe and efficient transport of liquids. As global activity in large-scale projects continues to increase, Perma-Pipe remains well-positioned to meet the complex demands of the oil and gas markets while fostering innovation in its product offerings.
