Pixelworks names industry veteran to drive TrueCut Motion adoption
Pixelworks appoints Sevan Brown as Executive Vice President of Business Development in a newly created role to accelerate global adoption of its TrueCut Motion platform. The Los Angeles announcement says Brown, a 20‑year media and entertainment executive, will lead partnership, licensing and market‑development efforts with major Hollywood studios, international exhibitors and streaming service providers.
Brown brings a track record in theatrical content distribution and digital cinema services from senior roles at Unique X, Motion Picture Solutions and Deluxe Entertainment Services Group. At Unique X he runs the global Content Services division and advances SaaS theatrical delivery and studio workflows; at Deluxe he oversees distribution, digital cinema mastering and related technical operations that align with Pixelworks’ cinematic visualization focus. Pixelworks positions that practical experience as central to integrating TrueCut Motion across production, post‑production and exhibition pipelines.
In his role Brown leads commercial trials, pilots and licensing programs designed to embed TrueCut Motion into studio grading, exhibitor playback chains and streaming encoders, aiming to standardize motion grading for premium viewing experiences. Todd DeBonis, Pixelworks’ chairman and CEO, says Brown’s commercial and operational background equips him to broaden engagements with studios, premium exhibitors and streaming partners. Brown says he looks forward to spearheading partnerships as the industry shifts toward premium theatrical presentations and higher‑quality motion reproduction for consumer displays.
Product focus and technical positioning
Pixelworks presents itself as a technology licensing company specializing in content creation, delivery and display processing with more than two decades of image‑processing development. TrueCut Motion is positioned as a motion‑grading and cinematic visualization solution intended to reduce judder and preserve creative intent across different screens and playback environments.
Commercial rollout and market outreach
The company says it will leverage Brown’s studio and exhibitor relationships to pursue pilots and licensing agreements worldwide, targeting integrated workflows from post‑production houses to streaming platforms and theatrical chains. The appointment underscores Pixelworks’ push to convert cinematic motion‑grading techniques into scalable licensing opportunities across theatrical and streaming ecosystems.
