The company introduces a new pricing structure for the 2026/27 Epic Pass and Epic Local Pass, specifically aimed at users aged 13 to 30. With a substantial 20% discount on these passes, Vail enables young travelers to experience ski resorts at a dramatically reduced cost—up to $220 savings—making the Epic Pass available for $869 and the Epic Local Pass for $649. This initiative takes place during a period when engaging younger audiences with affordable options is critical to the long-term vitality of outdoor sports and recreation.
The move comes as Vail Resorts' CEO Rob Katz emphasizes the necessity of making skiing and snowboarding accessible to the next generation, especially as Gen Z preferences shift towards experiential, rather than material, spending. By catering to a younger audience, Vail aims not just to boost its revenue from pass sales but to cultivate a new generation of outdoor enthusiasts, thereby fostering a stronger community around skiing and snowboarding. In addition to the general discounts, the company provides added incentives—early-bird season-long pass holders receive 10 Epic Friend Tickets, allowing them to purchase half-off lift tickets and share the experience with friends and families, further encouraging group participation in the sport.
To widen its appeal, Vail Resorts also integrates a reward system for skiers and riders who visited any of the company’s 37 North American resorts during the 2025/26 season. This allows those occasional lift ticket purchasers to transition more affordably to becoming regular pass holders, with up to $175 in savings on select Epic Pass products.
