Couples who game weekly report higher relationship satisfaction, Logitech G study finds

Logitech International S.A.’s gaming division, Logitech G, is releasing research that positions multiplayer gaming as a measurable relationship-builder as Valentine’s Day approaches. A survey of more than 1,500 Australians aged 18–45, conducted with independent research firm Antenna Insights, finds couples who play video games together at least once a week report a net relationship satisfaction score of +47.3 versus +24.0 for those who rarely or never game together. Regular gaming partners also report nearly 17 hours of quality time together per week, about 3.8 hours more than those who game only occasionally.

The company times the findings with the launch of its Astro A20 X Gaming Headset, which Logitech G says is powered by PLAYSYNC technology that lets players switch between consoles with a single button press. Daniel Hall, senior category manager at Logitech G ANZ, frames the behaviour as more than hobbyist activity, saying gaming serves as “a powerful tool for quality time, communication, and teamwork in romantic relationships.” Logitech positions the product and the research together to underline how hardware and software features can support co‑play and shared leisure.

Logitech’s dataset underlines structured, repeatable gaming sessions as producing measurable benefits in couple dynamics. The research highlights cooperative problem-solving, stress reduction through shared leisure and an accessible, low-cost dating option as mechanisms by which gaming adds value to relationships. The company is using these claims to broaden the narrative around gaming peripherals from performance and immersion to social and lifestyle utility.

Survey specifics and player behaviour

The Antenna Insights study reports 44% of respondents say they play video games with a partner occasionally or regularly, while 22% play rarely and 34% never do. Top reasons couples enjoy gaming together include teamwork and relaxation, with 52% saying it gives them “something fun to do as a team.” The sample focuses on Australian adults aged 18–45 and aims to quantify weekly shared hours and self‑reported relationship satisfaction.

Market and product positioning

Logitech G’s simultaneous publication of the survey and the Astro A20 X launch reflects a marketing strategy that ties hardware development to social use cases. By emphasising cross‑platform convenience and co‑play benefits, the company is signalling an industry trend toward promoting gaming accessories as lifestyle and relationship tools as well as competitive equipment.
