Accenture standardizes on Black Duck Polaris for application security
Accenture is standardizing its Application Security Practice on Black Duck’s Polaris platform, creating a managed security services partnership that integrates real-time static, software composition and dynamic testing into a single SaaS offering. Under the agreement announced Feb. 11, Accenture adopts Polaris as its primary application security testing (AST) solution across DevSecOps engagements, using the cloud-based, AI-powered platform to automate vulnerability discovery and remediation workflows within clients’ CI/CD pipelines.
The deal positions Accenture to deliver managed services built on Polaris and to resell Black Duck solutions globally, enabling faster onboarding and scale from testing a single application to thousands. Accenture security teams are combining Polaris analytics and automation with their consulting and incident response capabilities to provide unified dashboards, compliance reporting and tailored support that aim to reduce mean time to detect and remediate vulnerabilities and improve client risk posture.
Accenture frames the move as part of broader efforts to accelerate adoption of DevSecOps best practices and embed security into digital transformation programs across industries. Company executives say the integrated offering helps clients maintain customer trust and protect critical assets by providing proactive, analytics-driven insights and automated remediation at the velocity of modern software delivery.
Managed services and resale expand Accenture’s security portfolio
As a managed security service provider partner, Accenture will both operate services on Polaris and be authorized to resell the platform, increasing flexibility for clients that prefer a single vendor for transformation, training and long-term security operations. The partnership is designed to let Accenture bundle Polaris into larger security transformation and compliance engagements.
Platform specifics and market implications
Black Duck, headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts, markets Polaris as an enterprise-grade, AI-enhanced AST platform that consolidates SAST, SCA and DAST results into actionable dashboards. Black Duck’s CEO frames the agreement as reinforcing their commitment to high-level application security, while Accenture’s security leadership emphasizes the platform’s role in protecting client assets and accelerating secure software development.
