Air Products & Chemicals has announced a significant expansion in its industrial gas offerings by planning to build, own, and operate a new air separation unit in Cocoa, Florida. The project, expected to commence operations in the second half of 2028, aims to supply vital gases such as liquid oxygen, nitrogen, and argon specifically tailored for the rapidly growing space launch industry.
Beyond space applications, the facility will cater to regional medical, metals, and chemical markets, indicating a broadening of Air Products’ customer base and service capabilities. This new unit will complement Air Products’ already extensive network of approximately 70 existing air separation units across the United States.
