AIT Worldwide Logistics Achieves Key ISO Certifications in Asia
AIT Worldwide Logistics, a prominent provider of global supply chain solutions headquartered in Itasca, Illinois, marks a significant achievement with the ISO certification of over a dozen locations across five Asian countries. The certifications include ISO 9001:2015 for quality management, ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management, ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety, and ISO 14064-3 for greenhouse gas emissions reporting. This accomplishment highlights AIT’s unwavering commitment to operational excellence, sustainability, and safety across its extensive logistics network in Asia.
Wilson Lee, Senior Vice President for the Asia-Pacific region, expresses pride in the collective effort of the team to integrate these international standards into their operations. He emphasizes that these certifications not only enhance AIT's reputation in the logistics sector but also reflect the company's proactive strategies in addressing environmental concerns while ensuring high-quality service. The achievement sets AIT apart as a responsible leader in the logistics industry, aligning with the increasing demand for environmentally sound practices from clients and stakeholders alike.
The certification process, which commenced in March 2024, involved rigorous internal and external audits, as well as enhancements to systems and processes. All AIT-branded offices in China, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam have received certifications, except for two newly opened facilities in Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur. Valid until October 2027, these certifications reinforce AIT's strategic goals, including a commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2035 through initiatives such as alternative fuels, electric vehicles, and comprehensive recycling programs. Looking ahead, the company plans to pursue Authorized Economic Operator certification to solidify its reputation as a sustainability-focused logistics provider that supports clients in achieving their own Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) objectives.
In addition to these achievements, AIT intends to expand its electric vehicle initiatives and recycling efforts throughout the Asia-Pacific region. This forward-thinking approach not only enhances AIT's operational capabilities but also contributes toward broader environmental goals within the logistics sector, demonstrating the company’s dedication to responsible business practices. AIT Worldwide Logistics continues to set benchmarks in the industry, prioritizing both client satisfaction and sustainable development as it seeks to grow its presence in the Asian market.
