CAE Expands Aviation Training Footprint in Central Europe with New Facility

On September 4, 2025, CAE inaugurates its first business aviation training center in Central Europe, CAE Vienna, marking a significant milestone in the company’s global expansion. The center, which has been operational since April, is strategically located to cater to the burgeoning demand for aviation professionals in the region. With a focus on pilot training across various aircraft types, the facility enhances CAE's commitment to address the increasing need for skilled aviation personnel in Europe. Alexandre Prévost, Division President for Business Aviation at CAE, notes the anticipated requirement for 7,000 new pilots and 9,000 maintenance technicians in the next decade, underlining the center's pivotal role in fulfilling this demand.

The CAE Vienna center boasts advanced training technologies, offering instruction on four aircraft models including the Gulfstream G550 and the Bombardier Global series. A full-flight simulator for the Embraer Phenom 100/300 is already operational, with plans for a Bombardier Challenger 3500 simulator to be introduced in October and a Pilatus PC-24 simulator expected in the second half of 2026. The facility spans 86,000 square feet and features amenities designed to enhance the training experience, such as self-serve kiosks, a barista café, and a comfortable pilot lounge. This environment not only fosters effective learning but also supports the well-being of trainees, making CAE Vienna a comprehensive hub for aviation education.

Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer, Austria's Federal Minister for Economy, Energy and Tourism, emphasizes the center’s strategic importance in reinforcing Austria's status as a hub for aviation and innovation.
