Consumers Energy Implements Public Safety Power Shutoff to Mitigate Wildfire Risks

Consumers Energy, based in Jackson, Michigan, announces the rollout of its Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) policy, aimed at enhancing community safety against the backdrop of increasing wildfire risks during extreme weather. This proactive measure, developed in collaboration with the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) and local emergency management teams, allows Consumers Energy to temporarily shut off power in high-risk areas.
