Cognizant pushes enterprise-scale agentic AI with Google Cloud
Cognizant Technology Solutions is moving its Google Cloud relationship from platform integration to enterprise-scale execution to help clients operationalize agentic AI. The company is adopting Gemini Enterprise alongside Google Workspace internally and is preparing a market offering that combines the two to convert manual, fragmented tasks into AI-driven workflows such as collaborative content creation and supplier communications. Cognizant says the initiative is intended to boost productivity, employee experience and delivery velocity across its operations and client engagements.
To institutionalize the effort, Cognizant establishes a dedicated Gemini Enterprise Center of Excellence and embeds agentic AI into its Agent Development Lifecycle (ADLC), which guides AI from design and blueprinting through implementation, validation and production rollout. The firm also signals heightened commercial execution by expanding scaled delivery investments and leveraging tools such as Cognizant Ignition (now enabled by Gemini) to accelerate discovery, prototyping and data foundation optimization. Annadurai Elango, President, Core Technologies and Insights at Cognizant, frames the work as focused on purpose-built, industry-specific agents that embed context into systems and co-create solutions tailored to client needs.
Google Cloud leadership positions the collaboration as delivering enterprise-ready AI with measurable business impact, with Kevin Ichhpurani, President, Global Ecosystem and Channels at Google Cloud, stressing the aim of translating AI strategy into deployed, governed systems at scale. Cognizant highlights its role as an “AI builder,” combining proprietary IP, a repeatable implementation approach and Google Cloud capabilities to operationalize agentic AI in real-world environments and convert potential into measurable outcomes across sectors.
Logistics partnership broadens modernization remit
Separately, Cognizant expands a strategic technology partnership with Wallenius Wilhelmsen to modernize core applications and infrastructure for the global roll-on/roll-off and finished-vehicle logistics leader. The deal extends Cognizant’s role beyond services to strategic modernization, introducing AI-driven efficiencies and simplifying digital operations to support the carrier’s integrated supply chain objectives across its fleet, trade routes and processing centers.
Industry positioning and execution focus
The moves underline Cognizant’s push to anchor growth in AI-driven transformation and large-scale modernization engagements, positioning the company as a systems integrator that couples cloud platform partnerships with industry-specific delivery models. The firm emphasizes repeatable, governed implementation frameworks and commercialized product offerings to scale agentic AI across enterprise clients.
