Gulf tie-up aims to modernise tech backbone at diversified conglomerate
Cognizant Technology Solutions is entering a three-year deal to manage and revamp the IT infrastructure and application services of UAE property developer and conglomerate DAMAC Group, the companies announce. The agreement is designed to streamline operations and upgrade digital experiences for both customers and employees across DAMAC’s varied businesses. Cognizant will assume comprehensive responsibility for systems that underpin customer-facing platforms and core enterprise capabilities.
Comprehensive modernisation across DAMAC’s portfolio
Under the pact, Cognizant is responsible for a wide spectrum of technology domains spanning DAMAC’s property development and real estate operations, data centres, retail and fashion businesses, hospitality units, capital markets activities and logistics. The scope explicitly covers digital and e-commerce platforms, customer-relationship management, core enterprise systems, data platforms and AI-led initiatives aimed at extracting actionable insights from DAMAC’s data.
The programme emphasises embedding automation, operational excellence and continuous improvement to elevate service delivery, accelerate digital maturity and increase business agility and scalability. Ali Sajwani, Managing Director of DAMAC Group, says the alliance “represents a significant step in our journey to advance digital maturity and streamline how we deliver value through technology to our customers and stakeholders.” Cognizant positions the work as aligning technology investments with DAMAC’s long-term strategic vision.
Delivery model, governance and measurable targets
Cognizant will deploy dedicated teams and standardised best-practice frameworks to modernise legacy systems, integrate cloud and on-premise environments as required, and strengthen cyber resilience and governance. The engagement includes introducing AI and analytics capabilities and pursuing automation-driven efficiency gains. Progress is set to be tracked against service-level metrics, user satisfaction scores and operational KPIs to ensure demonstrable returns and ongoing alignment with business objectives.
Regional demand and sector implications
The deal underscores growing pressure on Middle Eastern real estate and infrastructure firms to adopt digital-first business models, modernise systems and build operational resilience as customer expectations rise. Cognizant brings a combination of global delivery experience and regional expertise that the sector is increasingly seeking.
A template for large conglomerates
By focusing on measurable business impact and continuous optimisation, the agreement positions both parties to pursue enhanced user experiences and data-led decision-making over the three-year term. The arrangement could serve as a blueprint for other conglomerates in the region looking to centralise IT governance while accelerating cloud, automation and AI adoption.
