Duke Energy Invests $830,000 in Historical Preservation for America's 250th Anniversary Celebration

Duke Energy (DUK) strengthens its commitment to civic engagement and historical preservation through its recently completed America250 initiative, culminating in nearly $830,000 awarded in grants. This investment, which exceeds $1 million in total, focuses on enhancing access to local history across its service areas, including North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. The initiative aims to bolster community understanding of local heritage with diverse projects, such as hosting the Smithsonian's traveling exhibition in South Carolina and restoring a historical railroad locomotive in Indiana.
