Elbit Systems Secures Major Electronic Warfare Contracts in Asia-Pacific

Elbit Systems Ltd. recently announces a significant milestone in its defense technology offerings, securing contracts valued at approximately $275 million to deliver advanced airborne self-protection electronic warfare (EW) systems to a country in the Asia-Pacific region. This five-year agreement focuses on enhancing the survivability of helicopter platforms against missile threats, a critical need in modern military operations. The contracts include the provision of Elbit’s Direct Infra-Red Counter-Measure (DIRCM) system, which integrates cutting-edge electronic sensing, signal processing, and automated threat response capabilities to effectively detect and neutralize incoming missile threats.

The DIRCM system, part of a comprehensive EW suite, is designed to improve mission effectiveness and protect aircraft in complex combat environments. Elbit Systems also plans to deliver its Mini-MUSIC™ DIRCM, specifically tailored for small to medium-sized rotary and fixed-wing aircraft, including helicopters. This system utilizes advanced laser and tracking technologies that have proven successful in military applications, with hundreds of thousands of flight hours logged in various operations. By customizing these solutions to meet the specific operational needs of the customer’s helicopter platforms, Elbit strengthens the overall safety and effectiveness of air missions in the region.
