Energy Fuels Inc. Advances Uranium Production and Expands Rare Earth Elements Operations

- Energy Fuels anticipates a robust uranium output of 1.6 million pounds for the first half of 2026.
- Modifications to the White Mesa Mill will enhance rare earth element production starting July 2026.
- Future Phase 2 expansion aims to increase NdPr capacity to nearly 6,300 metric tons per year.
Energy Fuels Inc. (UUUU) demonstrates significant strategic advancements in the uranium and rare earth elements market, as it gears up for a transformative phase in its operations.
Strong Uranium Production Forecast
The company’s mid-year update indicates a robust production forecast for the first half of 2026, with an expected output of approximately 1.6 million pounds of finished U3O8. This production aligns well with its full-year guidance of 1.5 to 2.5 million pounds, affirming Energy Fuels’ place as a leading producer with efficient operations centered around its 100%-owned White Mesa Mill in Utah. The projected average monthly output of over 265,000 pounds signals a strong momentum for the company as it meets the increasing global demand for uranium, particularly with the renewed interest in nuclear energy as a reliable energy source.
In addition to bolstering its uranium operations, Energy Fuels is set to initiate modifications to its Phase 1 rare earth element circuits at the White Mesa Mill starting in July 2026. The enhancements facilitate the company’s ability to produce commercial quantities of neodymium-praseodymium (NdPr) and heavy rare earth elements such as samarium and europium. The simultaneous processing of uranium alongside rare earths from mixed REE carbonates will allow Energy Fuels to capitalize on two critical markets, expanding its operational scope in the burgeoning rare earths sector and fortifying its strategic positioning in the energy transition landscape.
Future Expansion Plans
Looking ahead, Energy Fuels anticipates that these modifications will be operational by late 2027 to early 2028, with plans for a Phase 2 REE expansion that could elevate the Mill's capacity to nearly 6,300 metric tons per annum of NdPr. This expansion not only underscores the company's commitment to meeting the escalating demands for both uranium and rare earth elements but also positions Energy Fuels advantageously within the critical materials market.
Strategic Positioning
The company is strategically poised to leverage its resources effectively, thus ensuring it remains a key player amid the evolving global energy landscape that is increasingly leaning towards sustainable and diversified energy solutions.
