GoDaddy anchors AI agent identity to the global Domain Name System
GoDaddy announces an integration with Salesforce’s MuleSoft Agent Fabric that links its Agent Name Service (ANS) to enterprise agent management, aiming to curb spoofed tools and rogue automation. ANS registers AI agents and publishes them into the public Domain Name System, extending DNS so a registered agent becomes discoverable from any network within seconds and carries a verifiable identity tied to the owner’s domain name. The move uses existing DNS infrastructure to create a universal discovery layer for agents without requiring proprietary lookup tools.
The technical integration lets MuleSoft Agent Fabric use ANS as a trusted source for agent verification. MuleSoft Agent Scanners pull verified agents from ANS into the MuleSoft Agent Registry where agents appear for review and approval before they are permitted to access enterprise systems. From that registry, teams can view each agent’s verification status, publisher details and cryptographic proof of identity, and apply policies that determine which APIs and types of data a given agent may access.
GoDaddy emphasizes the combination of DNS-based discovery, cryptographic provenance and audit trails as a way to support compliance, governance and secure agent lifecycle management. By linking an agent’s identity to a domain owner, the system aims to lower friction for enterprises, small businesses and developers while providing forensic links that help trace malicious or misconfigured agents. The company frames the feature as speeding discovery across any network and giving IT teams a verifiable digital record for agent approvals.
Integration aims to stem enterprise risk from “agent sprawl”
GoDaddy frames the move as a response to rapid growth in agentic software on the open internet. Travis Muhlestein, GoDaddy’s CTO of product and AI, says the agentic ecosystem is exploding and trust and identity need to keep up. MuleSoft’s Andrew Comstock calls the integration a “digital passport” that helps organizations manage agent catalogs and ensure listed agents are authenticated and trustworthy.
Details, availability and links
GoDaddy and MuleSoft say the integration helps organizations of all sizes prevent rogue agents from interacting with business systems and sensitive data.
