International Tower Hill Mines Launches Livengood Gold Project Feasibility Study with Drilling Activities
- International Tower Hill Mines has launched the feasibility study for the Livengood Gold Project, involving multiple contracted companies.
- Core drilling activities for Phase 1 are underway to gather ore samples for metallurgical testing and process optimization.
- The study aims to enhance gold recoveries, validate data, and explore alternative processing technologies amid rising gold prices.
International Tower Hill Mines Ltd. (THM) has taken a significant step forward with the launch of a feasibility study for its Livengood Gold Project. This initiative marks a pivotal development in the company's journey as it works to unlock the project's potential. The feasibility study brings together a consortium of industry leaders, tasked with exploring and optimizing the resource's capabilities.
Feasibility Study Initiates Core Drilling
The first phase of the feasibility study has commenced, centered on core drilling activities that are crucial for gathering new ore samples. These samples will be instrumental in advanced metallurgical testing and process optimization. The drilling is being executed by Alloy Drilling Inc., utilizing two rigs to drill large-diameter PQ core holes in an area estimated to contain 13.6 million ounces of resources, with a gold reserve of 9.0 million ounces.
The drilling program aims to evaluate the possibility of improved gold recoveries, especially given the current elevated gold prices, which surpass the prior study's assumption of $1,680 per ounce. The project team is particularly focused on exploring advanced processing techniques, notably pressure oxidation (POX), which is known to enhance gold recovery rates.
Collaborative Efforts and Strategic Goals
BBA Consultants USA LP is leading the overall integration of the feasibility study’s deliverables, while collaborating closely with Hatch Ltd for their expertise in metallurgical optimization. The feasibility study not only seeks to validate existing technical data but also aims to develop a comprehensive execution plan and budget allocation strategy upon its completion. The current market conditions prompt the team to conduct thorough evaluations of processing options to maximize the project's value.
Exploring New Avenues in Gold Recovery
With the rise in gold prices, the exploration of alternative processing technologies becomes a strategic focus. The team believes that these evaluations will unlock additional value from the Livengood Gold Project, ensuring a robust and sustainable approach as the project progresses towards its next stages.
