Ituran ties onboard telemetry to AI analytics for motorsport performance
AZOUR, Israel, Feb 17 (Reuters) - Ituran Location and Control Ltd. is partnering with motorsport technology firm Griiip to make IturanMob the official Internet of Things provider for Griiip’s performance platform, the companies say. The collaboration integrates Ituran’s onboard telemetry hardware with Griiip’s AI‑powered analytics to enable real‑time collection, processing and cloud transmission of vehicle performance data across professional and amateur motorsport categories.
The integrated solution streams detailed vehicle metrics — including acceleration, braking, cornering, driving behavior and flagged anomalies — from IturanMob devices directly to GriiipPerformance, where AI models and web‑based dashboards convert raw telemetry into actionable insights. Ituran says the stack delivers instant, high‑precision information to drivers, teams and engineers on mobile devices, allowing lap analysis, telemetry overlays and instructor tools to be available during or immediately after track sessions.
Both companies position the tie‑up as accelerating digital transformation of motorsport by improving precision and scalability of data services. Ituran and Griiip expect rapid deployment at circuits, clubs and pro series, targeting connection of thousands of motorsport vehicles by the end of 2026 as the combined IoT and AI stack scales to meet demand for accessible, data‑driven performance improvement.
Scaling, deployment and user experience
Ituran and Griiip emphasize simplicity for end users: install the IturanMob device, register on GriiipPerformance, drive and receive insights. The partnership aims to broaden participation by giving amateurs access to professional‑grade analysis tools and supporting coaches and race engineers with continuous, accurate metrics that can inform setup, coaching and safety decisions.
Griiip, an Israel‑founded firm backed by Porsche Ventures with Manthey as a technical partner, is already known for converting telemetry into practical guidance. The agreement leverages Griiip’s cloud processing and Ituran’s global IoT expertise to make advanced motorsport analytics more connected and scalable worldwide, with both companies forecasting significant uptake across multiple racing categories through 2026.
