Sands China Advances Sustainability Efforts Through Community Engagement

Sands China demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability and community support through its ongoing initiatives, particularly in the area of hygiene and resource recycling. The company recycles a significant 345 tons of hotel amenities since 2014, reflecting its dedication to minimizing waste and promoting environmental responsibility. On December 11, 2025, Sands China mobilizes a remarkable 330 volunteers, including team members and local organizations, to assemble 30,000 hygiene kits for Clean the World. This event highlights Sands China's collaborative efforts with the University of Saint Joseph, sustainability nonprofit Sustaincia, Oxfam in Macau, and the Youth Volunteers Association of Macao, marking a decade-long partnership focused on social responsibility.

The hygiene kits assembled during this event are set to provide essential supplies to families in need both locally and internationally. Of the total kits prepared, 26,000 will be sent to the Philippines, while 4,000 will support 11 NGOs in Macao and three charitable institutions in Hong Kong. Each kit contains personal care items such as shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, toothbrushes, and toothpaste, accompanied by encouraging message cards, all packaged in reusable non-woven bags. This initiative not only addresses immediate hygiene needs but also fosters a sense of community and support among the volunteers involved.

In addition to its charitable efforts, Sands China emphasizes the importance of recycling through its innovative approach to used hotel supplies. The company collects soap discarded by guests after their stay, which is then sanitized and recycled by Clean the World.
