Lattice Materials, a key player in the semiconductor industry specializing in custom-grown silicon and germanium crystals, receives an $18.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of War (DoW) under Title III of the Defense Production Act. This funding aims to enhance the domestic supply chain for essential materials, particularly in the context of national security and defense applications. As one of the few U.S.-based manufacturers of optical-grade germanium and silicon crystals, Lattice's contributions are indispensable for producing infrared optical components like lenses, windows, and mirrors used in airborne sensors and missile guidance systems.
