Revolutionizing Loan Assessment: Cenerus Introduces C-RATE System

In a significant development for the financial technology sector, Cenerus has launched its innovative Cenerus Rating and Monitoring System (C-RATE) at the Bank Director Bank C-Suite Summit in Nashville, Tennessee. This new tool aims to transform how commercial lenders assess and monitor loans by providing a transparent and repeatable scoring mechanism. The C-RATE system introduces the Cenerus ScoreSM, which ranges from 0 to 100, delivering independent data on the quality and repayment potential of each loan. This system is poised to address the shortcomings of traditional loan assessments, which often rely on backward-looking analyses that do not meet the demands of a dynamic market.

Cenerus CEO Sam Rosenfeld emphasizes that C-RATE fills a critical gap in the current lending landscape by offering an active measurement of loans and borrowers. With the system’s capability to evaluate loans through Cenerus Ratings, which range from A to F, lenders can assess Company Grade, Loan Variance Risk, and Documentation quality. This comprehensive scoring enables banks to manage risks more effectively and seize opportunities that arise in a fast-evolving economic environment. By enhancing the tradability of commercial loans through reliable scoring and data, Cenerus positions itself as a leader in financial technology, addressing the pressing needs of banks and credit unions.

The system is set to launch with pilot deployments, including a partnership with Crossroads Impact Corp and its subsidiary, Capital Plus Financial, as part of a new State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) program. This Texas-based initiative aims to provide flexible funding options for small businesses and will leverage the C-RATE data to create actively monitored, more tradable commercial loans. With the potential to unlock billions of dollars in U.S. commercial and industrial loans, Cenerus is strategically aligning itself to meet the evolving requirements of lenders and borrowers alike, reinforcing its role in the financial ecosystem.
