Orlando World Center Marriott Renovation Enhances Event Experience
The Orlando World Center Marriott recently completes a significant renovation of its Grand Ballroom, reaffirming its position as the world's largest Marriott property. Spanning over 36,000 square feet, the updated ballroom now offers 14 configurable spaces designed to accommodate a variety of events. General Manager Robert Bray emphasizes that this transformation focuses on providing world-class event experiences that blend sophistication with adaptability. The new design showcases modern elements such as upgraded carpets, contemporary wall coverings, and advanced lighting and sound systems, enhancing both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
One of the most notable features of the renovation is the addition of new seating options in the foyers, complemented by modernized public restrooms. Furthermore, the integration of three large digital boards allows for enhanced branding opportunities, making this venue more appealing to event planners. With a convention center that boasts over 500,000 square feet of flexible function space, including one of the largest pillar-free ballrooms in the world at 105,000 square feet, the Orlando World Center Marriott positions itself as a premier destination for hosting large-scale events.
In addition to enhanced event facilities, guest accommodations also receive upgrades. Visitors can now enjoy hard-surface flooring, expansive workstations with multiple outlets, walk-in showers, and private balconies with views of the 200-acre resort, which is located near Walt Disney World®. The property offers a wealth of amenities, including 10 dining outlets, a massive lagoon pool, waterslides, a kids’ splash zone, and a lazy river, all contributing to a comprehensive experience for both business and leisure travelers. This renovation exemplifies Marriott's ongoing commitment to providing memorable and modern event settings.
Expanding Luxury Portfolio with St. Regis Management
In another significant development, Marriott International announces its management takeover of The Resort at Kapalua Bay, set to take effect on March 14, 2026. This oceanfront luxury resort located on Maui's northwest coast will transition into the prestigious St. Regis Hotels & Resorts portfolio in 2027, post-renovation. The resort spans approximately 25 acres and features 146 expansive ocean-view residences designed for privacy and luxury.
As the transition unfolds, the resort remains operational, dedicated to maintaining the exceptional guest experience it is known for. Marriott's Chief Development Officer for Global Mixed Use and Luxury in North America, Dana Jacobsohn, expresses pride in the collaboration with Kemmons Wilson Hospitality Partners, emphasizing the commitment to enhancing luxury offerings for discerning travelers. This strategic partnership solidifies the resort’s reputation as a premier leisure destination, further aligning with Marriott's mission to provide sophisticated amenities and personalized service tailored to modern luxury travelers.
