NorthWestern Energy Group, Inc. has made a strategic move by signing a letter of intent to provide energy services for a new data center developer in Montana, marking a significant step toward bolstering the state's technological infrastructure. This initiative is set to commence in 2027, with an initial energy service load of at least 50 megawatts, anticipated to expand to over 250 megawatts by 2029. The integration of this project into NorthWestern's regulated business framework underscores the company's commitment to supporting economic growth through reliable energy solutions tailored for the tech sector.
The company's President and CEO, Brian Bird, highlights NorthWestern Energy's diverse generation portfolio and its strategic resource acquisitions as critical components that position the company as an essential economic partner within Montana.
