Geronimo Power marks a significant milestone in Highland County, Ohio, with the commencement of commercial operations for its Dodson Creek Solar Project. The facility boasts a capacity of 117 megawatts (MW) and is now fully operational within the PJM market. This expansion represents over $240 million in economic benefits throughout the lifespan of these projects. At its peak, the Dodson Creek initiative employed 125 construction workers, showcasing the job creation potential within the renewable energy sector. Kiewit Power Constructors Co., the firm responsible for its construction, highlighted the project's successful completion and its alignment with Ohio’s goals for clean energy. Prominently featured in the Dodson Creek project are the Series 7 modules manufactured by First Solar, Inc., which is conveniently based in nearby Perrysburg, Ohio. With projections suggesting the project will generate approximately $21 million in new tax revenues over two decades for local entities, it highlights the long-term benefits that accompany such renewable ventures.
