PG&E Restructures Leadership to Enhance Customer Service and Energy Delivery

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) announces a strategic reorganization of its leadership team aimed at improving service delivery across Northern and Central California. Effective January 1, 2026, these changes come in response to the growing energy demands in the state and the need for a more responsive approach to local needs. CEO Patti Poppe emphasizes that these organizational adjustments are designed to ensure that PG&E can effectively meet the expectations of its customer base, which consists of over 16 million Californians.

Sumeet Singh, who has been with PG&E since 2000 and served as Executive Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer since 2023, steps into the role of Chief Executive Officer for Pacific Gas and Electric Company and Executive Vice President of Energy Delivery. In this capacity, Singh will work towards integrating operational and engineering teams to enhance the safety, reliability, affordability, and cleanliness of energy resources. This integration is crucial as California faces increasing energy demands, making it imperative for PG&E to deliver efficient energy solutions while maintaining high service standards.

In addition to Singh, PG&E's leadership team sees other key appointments that reflect a forward-thinking approach to customer service. Carla Peterman becomes President of PG&E Corporation and Executive Vice President of Customer & Corporate Affairs, a role that will focus on aligning customer needs with corporate policies. Jason Glickman, as Executive Vice President of Strategy and Growth, will prioritize long-term strategic planning to navigate California’s evolving energy landscape. These appointments signal PG&E's commitment to a customer-centric model that prioritizes transparency, responsiveness, and innovation in energy delivery.

In tandem with these executive changes, Marlene Santos is appointed Chief Transformation Officer and Executive Vice President of the Enterprise Transformation Office, responsible for modernizing business processes to enhance service quality and reduce customer bills. Chris Patterson is promoted to Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, where he will oversee relations with state government, ensuring that PG&E's initiatives align with regulatory expectations. Overall, this restructured leadership team positions PG&E to better serve its customers while adapting to the complex challenges in California's energy sector.
