Austin launch aims to marry culture and housing
Realtor.com is converting its Austin headquarters into a public hub during SXSW 2026, staging a two-day "Open House" that blends cultural programming with industry discussion. The event takes place Friday and Saturday, March 13-14, at Realtor.com’s offices at 901 E. 6th Street and is billed as a central meeting place for real estate, housing and technology audiences attending the festival.
Realtor.com stages Two-Day "Open House" at HQ
On March 13, programming opens with a morning café session featuring cookbook author and country music performer Hannah Dasher, who delivers a live performance and recipe tasting. The midday schedule includes a PropTech Startup Showdown, an early-stage startup competition produced in collaboration with the National Association of REALTORS®, and the day concludes with an evening "House Warming Party" featuring music duo Dorio for partners, press and industry guests. Realtor.com frames the lineup as a way to bring culture into the company’s neighborhood footprint during SXSW.
March 14 shifts to policy and market conversations aimed at industry professionals and consumers. Panels address purpose-driven storytelling, the growing economic influence of female homebuyers, and links between homeownership and generational wealth. Realtor.com places several of its senior executives on stage, including Mickey Neuberger, Chief Consumer and Marketing Officer; Anna Marie Castiglioni, Head of Realtor.com Next; and Chief Economist Danielle Hale, alongside leaders from builders, advocacy groups and research organizations.
The company emphasizes community engagement and media access
Realtor.com describes the Open House as an extension of its commitment to the Austin community and invites media to attend all sessions. The firm presents the venue as an accessible space where culture, technology and housing policy intersect during a major industry week.
Partnerships and participant slate underline industry reach
Speakers and panelists include representatives from Taylor Morrison, the National Association of REALTORS®, The Urban Institute, The Purse, Google, Texas REALTORS® and local boards, among others. The lineup signals Realtor.com’s effort to convene a cross-section of stakeholders — from PropTech founders to policy researchers — around housing trends and innovation during SXSW.
