The company attains an impressive score of 71 out of 100, signifying a remarkable 30% increase from its previous score of 55 in FY 2023. This new score places ReNew in the top 10 percentile of the global energy sector, establishing it as one of only two Indian energy firms to exceed the crucial '70' threshold. This recognition not only underlines ReNew's commitment to sustainability but also positions it as a pioneering force in the country's energy transition efforts.
Vaishali Nigam Sinha, Co-Founder and Chairperson - Sustainability at ReNew, highlights the significance of this accolade, stating that it reinforces the company's stature as a leader in sustainability within the Indian power sector. The CSA score is a reflection of ReNew's ongoing dedication to responsible business practices, which includes a commitment to integrated reporting and enhanced transparency. This progressive approach to sustainability is integral to ReNew’s operational ethos and is expected to resonate positively with stakeholders as the demand for corporate transparency in environmental practices grows.
In addition to its sustainability triumph, ReNew has also signed three Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) that collectively contribute approximately 1.1 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy capacity to its portfolio, which now totals 17.4 GW as of January 8, 2025. These agreements include a 50 MW solar PPA with the Solar Energy Corporation of India, a 200 MW round-the-clock (RTC) PPA with Railway Energy Management Company Limited, and a ~250 MW PPA with NHPC Limited. Each of these contracts underscores ReNew's strategic focus on expanding its clean energy capabilities while providing innovative solutions in digitalization, storage, and carbon markets.
As a leading independent power producer in India, ReNew Energy Global plc not only enhances its clean energy portfolio but also sets a higher standard for sustainability practices in the industry.
